Research on Political Developments in Belarus

Since the infamous Belarusian Presidential Elections in August 2020, the country has received a lot more attention in Berlin and other European capitals than prior to this historic event. With the start of Russia’s full-scale war on Ukraine in February 2022, this attention has regained momentum, albeit the events in Ukraine currently tend to overshadow Belarusian domestic political developments to some extent.
Against the background of an increased demand for research and expertise with regards to political developments in Belarus, we have strengthened our work in this field. We cooperate with an extensive network of experienced political analysts and sociologists.

Under the current (geo-)political conditions it is particularly important to understand developments inside Belarus. One of our current flagship projects is thus an annual study of Belarusian identity. Complimentary to this, we also conduct regular analyses of the situation and opinions of Belarusians abroad. All of our research projects include policy recommendations.
