International Trade Union Conference addressing Workers' Rights in Belarus

In Bremen, an international trade union conference addressing workers' rights in Belarus convened on October 23-24. The conference, organized by Salidarnast e.V., Global Labour University, DGB, and FES, featured global trade union representatives, national unions, and Belarusian union leaders. They discussed ongoing worker rights issues in Belarus, despite international resolutions, including the repression of unionists and political prisoners.

The gathering emphasized the critical need to apply Article 33 of the ILO Constitution to Belarus, called for informed UN structures, and challenged the role of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus within global union federations. Urgent actions were formulated to address these challenges.
