Berlin Belarus Future Forum

Berlin Belarus Future Forum and Film Screening of "The Accidental President"

We are pleased to announce the Berlin Belarus Future Forum, which will take place on October 14 at KAS Academy in Berlin. This forum is organized by four German political foundations: Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Heinrich Böll Foundation, and Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.

Over four years have passed since the fraudulent elections and state violence in Belarus sparked unprecedented peaceful protests and opened a new chapter in the society’s struggle for democracy. At the Berlin Belarus Future Forum we will delve into the current state of affairs in Belarus and assess Germany and Europe’s efforts to support the democracy movement. A special emphasis will be put on analyzing the status quo of Germany´s support for democratic Belarus one year after a Belarus resolution was passed by the German Bundestag which defined Germany´s position in an exemplary manner including many concrete calls for action towards the federal government.

The forum will feature keynote speeches by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and State Minister Tobias Lindner. After the podium discussions you will have a chance to listen to some Belarusian music by rock legend Lavon Volski and attend the world premiere of the Belarus Block Buster “7 Symptoms of Belaruskast”.
